Breaking norms, building freedom

Time flies and we are already in autumn. I certainly deny saying goodbye to summer yet and so I wanna show you the second part of my Viennese journey. This time you can see a completely different face of the city. We are leaving behind the elegance, sophistication and imperial luxury to clear the way for the part that is modernism, original and surrealistic. I am talking about Kunst Haus Wien and Hunderstwasser apartment house, both established on the basis of the philosophy and principles of the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. These are two of my favourite buildings at all times cause they don´t conform to the usual norms of an academic architecture building. A house that is conceived and designed by a painter is a true adventure even in modern times. A boost of creative architecture where windows are irregular in the facade, the floors are uneven going up and down like waves, contrasty colours and ceramic everywhere, woodlands on the roof with grass and large trees growing from inside the rooms. All a bit out of control as it goes its way. I love how nature and human meet the creation of it. You can feel that the idea is to be free. A free mind of a painter with a dream that became a reality and that we can still feel amazed by.

I have been inspired in the Venetian style for this sunny day in the Austrian city to wear a stripy t-shirt in mustard and white with navy shorts. The mustard matches the golden colour of my vintage watch and the multi-coloured moccasins. I love how smart and formal they make you look, but are fun to wear cause of the warm mix of colours like burgundy, grey, brown and the mustard. The navy bandana is rolled up and worn as a little scarf around the neck, matching the shorts and giving that bit of extra with its floral print.
