For many more moments together

It is a real pleasure to live abroad for years, travel back to your hometown and see that your friends are waiting for you and always excited to spend some time together. No matter how many years passed or how short time together is, we should enjoy as much as we can. Every time I return I find some changes, but this time there was a big one. The "family" has increased with a new little member. I cannot explain how excited I was to meet the baby of one person who I have known since forever. I could not stop smiling like a Cheshire Cat while I was having a nostalgic attack remembering how we were years ago. Time really flies and that is why we always try to make our short time together memorable. A few weeks ago, we took the car and made some trips through the Basque Country and the south of France.

We went to Balenciaga Museum in Getaria, a small town located in Gipuzkoa (Basque Country) where Cristobal Balenciaga, the famous fashion designer, was originally from. The exhibition shows absolutely brilliant and inspiring creations. It is a very modern facility in contrast with the traditional Basque streets and buildings. In the afternoon we went to one of the most beautiful cities ever. We had a coffee on a terrace in San Sebastian and a walk along the sea at sunset. The next day we went to Zugarramurdi in Navarre where all type of stories about witches and basque mythology takes place. A very charming and quiet village with great views and magnificent caves in the woods where witches use to live yesteryear. We approached Saint-Jean-de-Luz for quick sightseeing and a long walk along the beach before making our way back home. Definitely, moments to be remembered.

I am wearing one of my favourite jackets. A vintage navy bomber with marine elements like the little metallic anchors on the lapel and the chunky golden buttons. I'm wearing it with an over-size denim shirt with mao necklace and brown buttons and navy slim jeans. To add some colour to the look, I chose these moccasins in mustard and burgundy. To finish the look I tied a white bandana around my neck.

  1. Interesting post! Your travel experiences of the Basque and Saint Jean de Luz have certainly tugged my heart. I might be applying for a France Visa UK real soon as I heard that autumn is one of the best seasons to visit France. I will be checking out a few more posts about popular attractions, foods to eat and things to do while exploring St. Jean de Luz. However, I will be taking most of the cues from your blog to make my French getaway exciting and memorable.
