Sailor in port

Many avid travellers find themselves asking “which cities are the best to visit right now?”and find that Copenhagen usually presents itself as #1. Now that I have been there I can see why. Innovative design, green oases and clean waters make Copenhagen a sublime place to live and to visit. The dynamic Danish capital features progressive modern architecture, as well as the must-visit Tivoli Gardens amusement park, stunning palaces and all the activities and amenities you would expect in a world-class destination.

I spent most of my time in the city centre, a hub for many of Copenhagen’s "unmissable bits" all in one beautiful and manageable knot of streets, alleys and canals. I visited multiple churches during the day; Frederick’s Church with its impressive dome and royal palaces, Rosenborg Castle being my favourite. Tactically, I left Tivoli amusement park for the night time. A place with great history that fascinated me for its retro style and beauty. I couldn't miss the most revered sights - the colourful Nyhavn and The Little Mermaid. The classic Frederiksberg is a pocket of calm and chic close to the city centre, a perfect place to enjoy a coffee in a terrace and stroll in the grand royal park of Frederiksberg Gardens. Copenhagen’s edgiest quarter is now the hippest place with Vesterbro's eclectic shops, diverse restaurants and funky bars. I also had the chance to visit Østerbro, a laid-back and trendy area home to the city’s largest park and some truly great shopping.

Its multiples canals, beautiful ships and the Inderhavnen river coaxed me into this maritime style outfit. Here I am wearing an ivory and red stripy t-shirt with slim beige trousers. The over-sized denim jacket is the most useful and easiest garment to wear and I love how it complements the brown leather cross-bag. I chose these multi-colour shoes as they are incredibly comfortable for long touristic days, but stylish and original at the same time. The green socks help tie in with the green of the shoes, a theme you'll notice also with the navy bandanna and cap. All elements that help to give the look that sailor-y touch, I mentioned before.
