One more season

Men's fashion for the autumn-winter trends reflects the current times, fusing understated elegance and functionality with creativity and innovation. In a context of economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions, designers have chosen to keep a low profile, offering essential pieces that combine quality and style. Since the shows in Milan and Paris earlier this year, there has been a growing interest in “discreet luxury”, but with a more casual and sporty approach. The coming season is characterised by a return to the classics, but with a contemporary twist. Impeccable jacket cuts, refined trousers and long, straight coats are essential. Volumes and proportions have been reduced, adopting a chic minimalist style with a British touch. Designers have transformed the traditional suit, combining it with more casual pieces such as turtlenecks and hoodies. Low key elegance becomes the norm, while luxury is perceived in subtle details yet high-quality fabrics.

Denim is reinvented this season with suits made from durable indigo cotton. This material, known for its durability, is now adapted to more formal contexts without losing its casual essence. The versatility of denim allows it to be combined with other garments, creating outfits that stand out both in work environments and at social events. The duffle coat, of military origin, is back with some extremely creative versions. Known for its robustness and functionality, the duffle coat is converted into a high-fashion piece without losing its practical traits. The versatility of this coat allows it to be used in various situations, from casual walks to more formal occasions, always guaranteeing an flawless appearance.

Fashion is bringing back the charm of the past, integrating cardigans and sweaters with a retro feel to revive the vintage style. Tweed jackets adorned with patches on the elbows, along with corduroy trousers and checked wool shirts, are consolidated as essential components to evoke a nostalgic, but renewed look.

Although oversized volumes have been abandoned, rounded shapes and ball effects are still popular. These protective and enveloping shapes offer a bold and futuristic aesthetic. The ball-effect trend adds a new dimension to menswear, creating a distinctive and eye-catching silhouette. The combination of practicality and style in these garments demonstrates how fashion can be both utilitarian and fashion-forward, offering multi-faceted options for the modern man.

The must-have accessory for the upcoming winter is hats. These accessories not only complete a look, but also serve as a fashion statement in their own, adding an element of expressiveness and fun to any outfit.

I am wearing an almost total black look composed of a vintage, leather biker which is full of details in design with its multi pockets, sketches in the lining, waist belt and snaps. I love the shape and the proportions of this garment; wide and bulky on the shoulders and short in the waist. I am styling it with taped, pinstripe trousers, very short at the bottom area that allows to see the socks which got thin, vertical, yellow lines somewhat following the print of the trousers. The grey, pearl blazer is a genuine piece that in an impulse to experiment with clothes, I decided to cut the bottom front side yet leaving the back untouched and longer inspired by tailcoats for a white-tie event dating back to the XIX century. The black t-shirt bears a metallic balloon that goes beautifully in contrast with the dark colour of the fit. The monk-strap shoes are offering a touch of colour with their red leather matching the laptop case. The latter displays a cassette giving a funny and quirky touch to the look. The sunglasses are the last element with their thin silver frame and small black lens to finish the look.
