There are a million ways to explore Budapest: on foot, by bus, tram and underground, on water or bike. And what to see while you're there? I started on the top, with the magnificent Buda Castle and the whole Castle District. You won't need huking boots to climb Gellért Hill to enjoy breathtaking, in fact part of the UNESCO World Heritage, views of the city from the Citadel. I crossed the river for the most grandiose building on the Pest embankment, The Parliament. For sacred wonders, I visited the tallest building in the city, Saint Stephen's Basiloca, and the fifth largest synagogue in the world, the Dohánt Street Synagogue. Heroes' Square will give you a peek into the romantic past of the country, and in the Memento Park I had the chance to enjoy a modern history lesson in the open. Once I finished with the must-sees, I left the main streets behind, and let the city unfold its secrets.
Secrets I had the chance to discover recently together with two of my closest friends. We spent five unforgettable days and learned , relaxed, partied and enjoyed our company. As usual for this kind of city trip, I go for something casual but stylish, confortable but not sporty. For this sunny day I picked something more formal and colourful as the wide stripy shirt in blue and mustard. It reminds me of the decorations of an old fair or of a circus tend. I only closed the last button and I wear a white basic t-shirt underneath. The slim jeans are fastened by a brown belt knotted and matching the shoes. These smart shoes are perfect to keep your feet slighly fresher with two big holes on the upper side. A cool mix between classic shoes and sandals. Even when it's colder, with a pair of plain socks they look great.
